Snow Fun

Snow. Who knew a photo shoot could be so much fun in the winter time? I absolutely loved shooting this way. Typically, I dread a big snow storm, but I found myself hoping for a big blast. Snow, when you are not shoveling it, is really magical. For a photographer, it’s particularly exciting because snow acts as a huge reflector making skin tones glow. We love that.

On this particular day, the weather was perfect. Thick snow all around, but it was mild enough where the family didn’t have to be all bundled up to feel comfortable. Comfort is key in photo shoots because subjects feel more relaxed and happy. And when clients are relaxed and happy I’m able to capture who they genuinely are. And that’s my goal for every shoot.
