Gorgeous Fall

This shoot was taken back in the beautiful fall of 2015. I love when everything comes together. The weather, the light, great family…ah!

When I’m shooting, I’m actually trying to do many things at once. (Multi-tasking, I believe, is a bit of a myth. Which might explain to clients why I’m acting like a nut behind the camera.) Anyway, as I’m shooting I’m trying to position myself so the light falls in a dramatic or flattering way, I’m adjusting camera settings, thinking of composition, white balance…you know, technical stuff. But most importantly, I’m trying to capture genuine expressions.

I love families. I love capturing how they interact and those subtle everyday connections that make a photo a work of art.
